Idaho Businesses Can (Finally) File Reports And Pay Fees Online

Oct 10, 2018

After more than 100 years of doing things the old-fashioned way, businesses in Idaho can now file reports online.

“It does definitely streamline the process for people filing a new business," says Secretary of State Lawerence Denney. "And it also makes it much easier for us, because there’s not nearly as much paperwork for us.”

Denney says the legislature appropriated $2.2 million for the upgraded system on their website, with a focus on security. He says he wishes it could have been done earlier, but:

“When you have an idea," Denney says, "then you have to go through the budgeting process and get the approval and then to the bidding process. The actual work took about 18 months.”

Up until this point, if you wanted to submit a trademark for a business or pay a fee – you would have to do so by mail or in person at the Secretary of State’s office.

The website is desktop and mobile friendly.
