Larry Keel & Natural Bridge On Mountain Stage

Larry Keel & Natural Bridge return to Mountain Stage, recorded live in the border town of Bristol, Tenn./Va., in partnership with the Birthplace of Country Music. A native of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, Keel leads a band dedicated to taking fiery, authentic bluegrass around the world.

Keel grew up immersed in mountain music before traveling to Japan to play at Tokyo Disneyland. Upon returning home, he won the prestigious flatpicking award at Colorado's Telluride Bluegrass festival. He's made his living as a musician for years now, having long since become a favorite among festival-goers on the bluegrass and jam-band scene.

Keel and his band — which includes his wife Jenny Keel on bass, mandolinist Mark Schimick and Will Lee on banjo — have released more than a dozen albums together, including the recent Classic. They recently launched a series of events and a website called "Fishin and Pickin," which combines the thrill of sport fishing with the warm intensity of live music.
