The Super Bowl featured plenty of glitz — which all takes lots of power

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. Last night's Super Bowl featured plenty of glitz - bright lights, mega TV screens, confetti cannons - all of which took a lot of power - 10 megawatts, enough to power 46,000 homes. For the first time in Super Bowl history, all that power was from a renewable source. Allegiant Stadium in Vegas gets its power from a Nevada solar farm - so an eco-friendly event, except, of course, for the private jets. It's MORNING EDITION.
