CAPITAL CITY SOUND CHORUS invites area women to experience the joy of barbershop harmonies (and have lots of fun!) while getting into the Christmas spirit! Any voice range is welcome. The chorus will begin rehearsing Christmas songs on October 6th and will have performances throughout the valley in December. Rehearsals will be every Thursday night (except Thanksgiving) from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 2206 N. Cole Road (across from Fairmont JHS) in Boise.
Each rehearsal will give women a chance to warm up vocally and enjoy free vocal training. Participants can experience the fun of singing in harmony right away while learning both traditional and non-traditional Christmas songs. The season will culminate in several sing-outs early in December and a Christmas concert on December 17. Our first Christmas Chorus rehearsal on October 6th will be an OPEN HOUSE where participants will sing, learn about the chorus, and meet the members. Light refreshments will be served.
Some previous singing experience is helpful, but it is definitely not required. Participants need not bring anything but their voice and should wear casual clothing and comfortable shoes. Music will be provided. Participation is free, and there is no obligation.
Capital City Sound is an award-winning chorus. Members come from all over the Treasure Valley and as far away as Twin Falls and Oregon. This chorus warmly welcomes new singers, and members are very supportive of each other. The chorus is a chartered chapter of Sweet Adelines International and accepts females of ALL ages (those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult).
