The daring production is the Pacific Northwest premiere of “Indecent”, which earned a 2017 Tony nomination for ‘Best Play’. It’s based on Yiddish writer Sholem Asch’s “God of Vengeance”, which told the story of a secret lesbian love affair in a family brothel run by an Orthodox Jew. Originally written and performed in Yiddish, “God of Vengeance” was a smash hit in Europe and on New York’s Jewish Lower East Side. It became deeply controversial, however, when an English-language version debuted on Broadway, eventually leading to the arrest and conviction of the entire cast. The Visual Arts Collective is a 21 and over venue in Garden City. Performances begin at 8 pm, with doors at 7.
