Outdoor recreation company Vista Outdoor is planning a $70 million expansion to its ammunition plant in Lewiston.
The Lewiston Tribune reports that the Idaho Department of Commerce announced Monday that Lewiston beat offers from Minnesota, where the company already has a plant, and other states.
The company plans to add more than 100 employees to a workforce that already numbers 1,400 as it expands its Southport facility. Company spokeswoman Amanda Covington says a second phase with another 37 jobs and $39 million in investment could occur over a longer period of time.
Both Nez Perce County and the state approved tax incentives for the company.
