Each of Idaho’s four community colleges are set to welcome students back to school in-person this month as cases of coronavirus have spiked far beyond what the state experienced earlier this spring.
The cities of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Nampa and Twin Falls where the campuses are located are among those currently experiencing the largest spread of COVID-19 in Idaho.
Students attending the Colleges of Eastern, Southern and Western Idaho, as well as North Idaho College, can expect a mix of online and in-person classes for the fall semester.
All campuses require students, faculty and staff to wear masks and class sizes have been reduced to better adhere to physical distancing guidelines.
In a letter to the campus community, North Idaho College President Rick MacLennan wrote that classes may even have to revert solely to an online model if the number of cases continues to climb there.
These reopening guidelines are similar to Idaho’s four-year higher ed institutions – each of which are also planning to have students back in the classroom this month.
