NTSB Releases Report Into Appleton Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on the plane crash that killed Micron CEO Steve Appleton last week.  The one page report details the events leading up to the fatal crash of experimental plane at the Boise Airport.  The report says witnesses watched the plane take-off twice on February 3rd.  The first time, Appleton said “we’ve got a problem.”  He landed, then seven minutes later, took off again.  At which point the NTSB reports:

“It then made a steep bank to the left and began to roll while rapidly losing altitude. The airplane completed about one revolution and impacted terrain in a nose-low attitude.”

A full report on the crash could take six month to a year to complete.  You can read the initial report here.
