After several weeks of reported prowler sightings on and around the Boise State University campus, officials will host an information session Wednesday for those in the campus community who may be concerned with their safety.
The university announced the forum in an email Tuesday morning. Police again investigated calls early Tuesday regarding suspicious people on and around campus. A prowler has been reported in women's bedrooms.
The forum starts at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Student Union Hatch C Ballroom. University administrators and campus security officials will be on hand.
"We're concerned with providing students with useful, relevant information they can take with them home to provide themselves with security," says BSU Dean of Students Chris Wuthrich. "We're very concerned. We want students to be able to take steps to protect themselves."
The university says specifics of the investigation won't be discussed at the event.
Boise police used dogs during their search Monday night, but no suspects were found. The university says the reports of a prowler again originated in the neighborhood near the intersection of Beacon Street and Boise Avenue.
The Boise Police Department is not sharing additional details regarding its investigation. Lt. Rob Gallas says police will address students and others in the campus community at the Wednesday forum.
