Richard Rodriguez
Newsroom AssistantI'm Richard and I started in 2022 as a summer intern. I graduated from University of Idaho in 2023 and am now working as a newsroom assistant. Currently, I am doing stories on a variety of subjects to get a better understanding of different beats. However, I would love to cover stories about diverse issues.
I fell in love with journalism after taking an introduction to journalism class at the University of Idaho. The class, taught by Kenton Bird, placed me into the real world and I spoke to people from different walks of life. Listening to their stories opened my eyes.
Being a journalist not only means writing to the public, it means I have the opportunity to listen to and live brief moments of people's lives. Everyone has a story to tell.
You can find me either working on my car or enjoying time with family and close friends.
