Burley Plastic Surgeon Pleads Guilty To Using Fake Breast Implants In Procedures

Sep 5, 2019

Temp Ray Patterson, a plastic surgeon from Burley, pleaded guilty in a federal court Wednesday to giving counterfeit breast implants to nine women.

Patterson said he bought the knock-off implants from China. He gave his patients the impression the implants were safe and were approved by the Federal Drug Administration. He also injected patients with counterfeit Botox.

KTVB reports he pleaded guilty to receipt and delivery of misbranded devices.

One plaintiff, Donjua Moseley, worked for Patterson at his Magic Valley Laser Cosmetics office in Burley.

When the claim was originally filed in 2016, Rick Hearn, the lawyer for the nine women, said some of them were in the process of getting their implants removed.

Patterson agreed to pay $8,200 in restitution to each victim. He faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the crime. His sentencing will be in October.
