No Fireworks This 4th Of July, But Boise Parks Remain Open

Jul 1, 2020

During a normal 4th of July in Boise, thousands of people flock to city parks like Ann Morrison to have a picnic, enjoy the day and watch fireworks.

But this year has been anything but normal.

The coronavirus pandemic has shut down many 4th of July events, but Boise Parks and Recreation will be open for people to recreate responsibly during COVID-19.

Our Morning Edition host George Prentice sat down with Doug Holloway, the director of Boise Parks and Recreation, to talk about the effects of the pandemic on the capital city’s greenest spaces.

As COVID-19 cases spread through the U.S. and Idaho, we’re committed to keeping you updated and informed. You can get updated info on cases, closures and how to stay healthy at any time on our Coronavirus news blog.
