Podcast Explores Bird Population Decline In Idaho

Have you heard of the long-billed curlew? It’s a native bird to Idaho, making its home in the grasslands of the state. But humans have altered their habitat so much that it’s all but gone, creating industrial challenges for the bird as it tries to adapt.

Idaho Matters is featuring a special episode of the “Threatened” podcast from our friends at Bird Note, all about the struggling curlew.

Frankie Barnhill is the Senior Producer of Idaho Matters, Boise State Public Radio's daily show and podcast. She's always interested in hearing surprising and enlightening stories about life in the West. Have an idea for Idaho Matters? Drop her a line!
