There are 11 candidates running for four seats on the Twin Falls City Council. Seven candidates did not report any campaign contributions by the first campaign finance reporting deadline this month.

On Tuesday, Meridian City Council passed an ordinance banning discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, joining 13 other Idaho municipalities with similar laws.

The City of Boise signed a resolution condemning the practice of seperating children from parents and housing them in detention center. Mayor Dave Bieter and a unanimous city council signed the resolution. Council president Lauren McLean talks about the city's reputation as one welcoming to immigrants and refugees.

An ordinance to ban discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people failed in the city council of Pocatello Thursday night. The close vote was a setback for gay rights advocates.

Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad cast the deciding no vote, making it four against, three in favor. The ordinance would have made it a misdemeanor to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Those voting no said they didn't reach their decision easily.
