In some ways, the message to stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic may have been taken a little too seriously. Hospitals across the country, including here in Idaho, are reporting fewer visits for heart attacks, strokes, and other medical emergencies.

Boise State University, like most college campuses, has programs to keep students, faculty and staff safe. Boise State partners with the app Rave Guardian, which connects users to help when they need it.

The Boise Police Department offers a free course on how to respond to active shooter scenarios in public. The class fills quickly and we discuss some of those techniques with BPD Officer Kevin Wittmuss.
