Boise State Public Radio News took home two second place awards in the national Public Media Journalists Association's (formerly known as PRNDI) annual contest.

Amanda Peacher, Kate Concannon, Frankie Barnhill, Lacey Daley and James Dawson have been named the winners of the Al Neuharth Award for Innovation in Investigative Journalism for the podcast LOCKED: a disturbing crime, a desperate act and how one case could change the way prisons treat some transgender inmates. The Association of LGBTQ Journalists announced the honor Wednesday. The award is presented with support from the Gannett Foundation.

The Mountain West News Bureau, in collaboration with the Boise State Public Radio newsroom, has won a regional 2020 Edward R. Murrow Award for its investigative podcast LOCKED.

Boise State Public Radio News has won three regional 2020 Edward R. Murrow Awards and contributed to a fourth, along with the Mountain West News Bureau.

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), which oversees the awards, announced winners of the regional contest Tuesday.

On Saturday, April 25, the Boise State Public Radio newsroom was awarded 24 Idaho Press Club awards, including 11 first-place prizes.

The Idaho Press Club is an association of media professionals, with a mission to promote excellence in journalism and freedom of information. Idaho entries are judged by a panel of journalists in other states.

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA)  announced Tuesday the winners of the 2019 national Edward R. Murrow Awards. These awards honor the highest caliber journalism being produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world. The Mountain West News Bureau's Amanda Peacher won best in feature reporting for her story on a student in Boise experiencing homelessness.

The news team at Boise State Public Radio took home three awards in the annual contest by national Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI).

On Saturday, April 27, the Boise State Public Radio news and programming departments brought home 26 Idaho Press Club Awards, including 11 first-place prizes.

Boise State Public Radio announced Tuesday the honor of a Gracie Award for Amanda Peacher’s radio feature on a homeless student in Boise. The story that won the national honor is called “Evicted And Homeless, This 14-Year-Old Describes Every Day As 'A Fight’.” It was broadcast on September 25, 2018, across the four-state region of the Mountain West News Bureau and later carried nationally on NPR’s Morning Edition on October 9.

On Saturday, the Boise State Public Radio News team brought home 21 Idaho Press Club awards, including 10 first place prizes.

Boise State Public Radio News has won five regional 2018 Edward R. Murrow Awards.

The Radio Television Digital News Association, which oversees the awards, announced winners of the regional contest Wednesday.

Boise State Public Radio's newsroom, KBSX, took home 17 Idaho Press Club awards on Saturday, including eight first-place prizes.

KBSX content was entered in radio, online and print categories.
