The pandemic has dramatically impacted arts organization across the globe, forcing some to close their doors for good. Others have been able to pivot performances online and resume at least some operations for their artists and fans.

'La Boheme' is returning to Opera Idaho this weekend for the seventh time. The story of bohemian life in the Latin quarter in Paris in the 1830s is also "about the death of innocence" according to tenor Peter Drackley.

Opera Idaho has been a Gem State staple for close to 50 years, but they are about to do something they never have before: perform a Frederick Handel production. "Acis & Galatea" will be on stage this November and features Emmy Award Winner Karim Sulayman. Idaho Matters talks with the tenor and conductor Robert Franz about what makes this opera unique.

As One is a chamber opera featuring two performers, a string quartet, and a penchant for challenging the conventions of opera. The piece is a coming-of-age story about a young transgender woman and it opens May 9 at The Danny Peterson Theatre. We talk with Opera Idaho's general director, Mark Junkert, and performers Blythe Gaissert and Michael Kelly about this thought-provoking performance.
