Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador and his Republican colleagues took on the State Department and the White House Wednesday. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing into the attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya last month that killed four American officials, including a U-S Ambassador.
Labrador grilled Undersecretary of State Patrick Kennedy about when he received intelligence reports about the attack.
"Did they come out a day after the incident, two days after the incident," asked Labrador?
"I will be glad to get that information…" said Kennedy, who was interrupted by Labrador who said, "That’s crucial, you knew you were coming here to testify before Congress and you coming here to tell us there were multiple reports, you cannot tell us when those reports came out?”
Kennedy said officials used the best intelligence that was available when they first claimed the attack was part of a protest over an Internet video. Administration officials now say the incident was an act of terrorism.
