Video: Rescuing Apollo The Dog After 15 Days In The Idaho Desert

For two weeks, workers from the Idaho Humane Society have been trying to find a missing pet.

Two days after Christmas, there was a rollover accident on I-84 in Boise near the Stage Stop. A white terrier named Apollo ran away after the accident happened.

But IHS officers did not give up. They went to the site of the accident and left food and water. They spent their days off driving and hiking around the area, hoping to spot Apollo. Snowfall during the search made it harder, since Apollo was mostly white. They asked around at local businesses, hoping someone had spotted the family pet.

And then a caretaker at the Double Tapp Range said he thought he saw the terrier.

“I looked out the window and saw him snooping around,” said David Banks.

Banks called IHS who came and caught Apollo. The dog had survived 15 days in the desert.
