And now to some news about a politician taking on a role not associated with politicians these days: hero. The mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Cory Booker, was treated for smoke inhalation and second degree burns last night. According to the AP, he was injured rescuing an elderly neighbor from her burning house.

Booker was returning home when he saw the house next door in flames. He and his security detail ran in. He reportedly heard his neighbor calling from her bedroom and carried her to safety.
