Dig into Geodes
Dig into Geodes
Join us at the Museum from 10am-1pm for a fun time of cracking Geodes, taking a hillside geo-hike and visiting our amazing museum. Geode-cracking takes place outside under shade canopies on the grassy courtyard of the Historic Women’s Ward (next to Old Pen in east Boise).
If you have never cracked open a geode with a giant pipe-cutter, you are in for an exciting moment. What Mother Nature has created is truly amazing. General Admission (children and adults) is $4 per person. All children receive a free small geode. Geodes of larger sizes will also be available for adults or children by donation.
Contact operations@idahomuseum.org if you have questions.
Updog hotdogs on sale throughout the morning until early afternoon.
Dig into Geodes is supported by a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council.
