Long Overdue Rain Creates Flood Worries In Idaho's West Central Mountains

A series of thunderstorms and rain showers will move through Idaho today.

There's a hint of sage in the air this morning as rain falls across the Treasure Valley.  These long overdue rain showers today though have created concerns for floods and mudslides.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for West Central Boise County and Southwestern Valley County. That warning is in effect until 12:15 this afternoon. The concern comes from a series of thunderstorms that will move across land burned by the Springs Fire this summer.

Mudslides and debris with large boulders are likely between Banks and Smiths Ferry and along the Banks to Lowman Highway. Travelers on Highway 55 should be aware of the danger.

The rain has also generated a buzz on social media and many of you have shared photos and comments about how this fall rain makes you feel. We've Storified some of your thoughts and pictures below.
