Chad Daybell's murder trial has begun. Follow along here.

On #GivingTuesday 2021 Boise State Public Radio celebrated the day by giving back to the community. We asked you to nominate your favorite local nonprofit and we would randomly select two to receive a $1,000 on-air messaging grant.

We received 213 nominations for a total of 106 different organizations (see the full list below). The grantees for 2021 are Orton Botanical Garden in Twin Falls and Community Cakes in Boise.

The Orton Botanical Garden educates people of all ages and backgrounds about cold hardy cacti and other succulents, native and drought tolerant plants, environmental health and resource conservation. The Garden also demonstrates how plants can support and protect pollinators and other wildlife while adding beauty to the landscape.

Community Cakes is a dedicated nonprofit organization of volunteers that enjoy giving the gift of a cake for deserving members of our community that would otherwise not receive a birthday cake! Since 2011 they've been working with community partners gifting homemade birthday cakes to hospice patients, veterans, foster children and many other deserving people right in our own community.

Thank you to everyone who took part in making #GivingTuesday a success!
