Alex Jones has both a radio show and a website by the name of InfoWars. The Chobani company has a large greek yogurt processing complex in Twin Falls. The plant has more than 1,000 employees, including hundreds of refugees.
In early April Jones published a video and promoted it online, claiming Chobani was, "importing migrant rapists." That and other comments by Jones led the company and its founder, Hamdi Ulukaya, to file a defamation suit against Jones in Federal Court in Twin Falls.
The Los Angeles Times reports a key part of the settlement agreement required Jones to retract inflammatory comments he made against the company. Reversing course from previous claims he would never back down, Jones read a brief statement at the end of his radio show Wednesday saying he had retracted previous stories and tweets about Chobani.
The statement concludes: "On behalf of InfoWars I regret that we mischaracterized Chobani, its employees and the people of Twin Falls, the way we did."
