London-based singer-songwriter Chris Letcher weaves together beautiful compositions with seamless and soothing melodies. His album has been receiving positive reviews in the U.K., South Africa, and the U.S., where the song 'Deep Frieze' stayed in the college radio top 30 for three weeks.
Letcher's new album Frieze ranges from the lively, synth-driven rock of "Deep Frieze" and "Wait" to more somber, acoustic tunes like the featured song "Misheen." His gentle vocals are surrounded by the ethereal soundscapes created with the help of Dave Eugene Webb (drums/accordion), Andrew Joseph (bass), Ross Richardson (guitar/voice), and Victoria Hume (keyboards/voice). The recordings feature sampled sounds, keys, and even ambient noise from a heart transplant ward.
Chris Letcher is an accomplished film composer and also a former member of the South African rock band Urban Creep. He's played Austin's SXSW, a sold-out tour in South Africa, and showcased at Popkomm in Berlin.
