Blind Pilot: Folk-Pop Rides Road Bikes

Last year, Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski renounced traditional tour transportation and embarked on a trip that took them from Vancouver to San Francisco — by bicycle. While on tour, they recorded their lo-fi debut album as Blind Pilot, called 3 Rounds and a Sound. The pair's minimalist folk-pop style revolves around simple acoustic guitar, sparse drumming and captivating vocals, often prompting comparisons to likeminded contemporaries such as Neutral Milk Hotel, Fleet Foxes, The Shins and Iron & Wine.

Blind Pilot's performances retain a bright and simple quality that's undeniably captivating. Now expanded to a sextet, the group is currently touring by van — and will soon commence tours with The Decembrists and Andrew Bird.
