Idaho's Business Lobby President Will Keep His Job Despite Leaked Obscene Email

The president of Idaho's largest business lobby offered to resign this week after a profane email targeting the chairman of the Senate Tax Committee was leaked.

Idaho Public Television reports Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry President Alex LaBeau will keep his job, despite the leaked email.

In the January email, LaBeau hinted at retaliating against Sen. Jeff Siddoway, R-Terreton, after he said Idaho shouldn't lower taxes unless starting teacher pay reaches $40,000 per year.

The obscene email was leaked to senate leaders.

LaBeau and IACI have apologized for the email.

In a written statement, IACI's executive committee said they're confident this was a "one time lapse in judgment."
