The Idaho Democratic Party says you can still vote, even if you’ve had trouble picking up a driver’s license at the DMV.
The Department of Motor Vehicles has had months of issues, leaving many customers struggling to get driver’s licenses. So far this year, software crashes have deadlocked offices around the state for more than 40 hours. When the system does work, it sometimes takes hours to get a license.
The Executive Director of the Idaho Democratic Party waited at a DMV office for six hours last week to renew her driver’s license. Now the Party is advising folks who may have gotten caught with an expired license that they can still vote come November.
The Party wants to remind potential voters that many other forms of photo ID can be used to vote, including a photo ID card issued by the Transportation Department. And even without photo ID, a voter can sign a Personal Identification Affidavit to get a ballot.
