This week we head back to the Statehouse to chat with freshman Rep. Brooke Green (D-Boise). We talked to her in the first podcast this season about being brand new to the job. Now we find out how it's going several months into the session, and what she learned along the way.

“What I know now that I didn’t know then is that getting a bill forward is really tough. It’s not easy. I never did think it was. You really truly have to do your homework and certainly have everybody lined up, especially as a Democrat,” says Green.

Her biggest takeaway? More people need to take part in the legislative process and come to committee hearings.

Plus, Samantha Wright and Boise State political science professor Gary Moncrief talk about lawmakers who are frustrated over Medicaid Expansion.
