Join Boise State Public Radio on Thursday, June 19 for a meet-and-greet with emerging local artists we’ve been featuring in a series of radio and web stories.
The series, “Artist Statement,” was made possible by a grant from the Boise City Department of Arts and History. In it, independent producer and reporter Frankie Barnhill set out to highlight some of the people leading a surge of creative energy in the city. Artists from different genres are collaborating in interesting, and sometimes challenging ways, pushing Boiseans to new understandings of art.
With the shadow of the Great Recession still hanging over them, a group of emerging artists have decided to make Boise their springboard – potentially changing the city’s cultural landscape forever.
On June 19, join us at downtown Boise’s Sesqui-Shop to meet some of these artists, including a painter, musician, performance/burlesque artist, and filmmaker.
Where: Arts & History Sesqui-Shop, 1008 Main St., Boise
When: Thursday, June 19 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
