-- The new documentary Grizzly Man by German filmmaker Werner Herzog tells the story of Timothy Treadwell, an amateur grizzly bear expert and wildlife preservationist who lived for 13 years -- and died -- among the bears in Alaska.
The film consists of video footage shot by Treadwell as well as Herzog's interviews with friends, family and experts. Treadwell and his girlfriend were found dead in October 2003, killed by the bears he had grown to love.
Herzog joins us to discuss his new film. He is associated with the German New Wave film movement and has produced, written and directed more than 40 films, including Wings of Hope, Aguirre, Wrath of God and Fitzcarraldo.
