Federal Reserve cuts interest rates for 3rd time this year

In its final meeting of the year, the Federal Reserve decided to lower interest rates by a quarter point. It was the third cut this year, and three officials dissented in one of the most divided meetings in years. The Fed is trying to balance a slowing job market and stubborn inflation.
