Ahead Of Boise Debut, 'The Clean House' Cast Members Talk Cleaning And Laughing

When it opened in New York, the play “The Clean House” was championed by The New York Times as a production of “theatrical audacity and emotional richness.” It is the work of celebrated playwright Sara Ruhl; and it opens this weekend at Boise Contemporary Theater and runs through May 6th.

Two members of the cast, Paula Rebelo and Denise Simone, sat down with Weekend Edition host George Prentice to talk about cleaning, the ever-present need for laughter and why their audiences are laughing so hard at jokes told in Portuguese.
