Join us to welcome May’s featured artists, Madison Bürger and Sasha Barrett. There will be music, refreshments, and the opportunity to meet the artists. Sasha Barrett's pottery showcase features a body of work fired in an eight day Anagama wood firing just outside of Missoula, MT. Anagama means “Cave Kiln” in Japan, and is an eight day labour-intensive firing process. Over eight cords of wood and temperatures reaching 2600 degrees fahrenheit, the flames decorate each vessel uniquely. Madison Burger is a fine artist from Asheville, North Carolina. She is currently based in Boise Idaho while working towards her MFA in interdisciplinary art, graduating in the spring of 2022. She works primarily with oil painting figures, focusing on domestic space, and emphasises flesh tones in figures interacting in intimate ways. The even begins at 6pm and there will be an artist talk at 7pm. In addition to the monthly featured work there is curated selection of ceramics and jewelry from local and regional artists on display and available for purchase. Masks will be required for entry, and there is a large outdoor area that is perfect for social distancing.
