Gold Panning for All Ages

Gold Panning for All Ages

Join us at the Museum for gold panning from noon-3pm. Activities provided by the Nampa
American Association of Gold Prospectors. In addition, there will be stations set up by Society
for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, Perpetua, and Women in Mining. You’ll learn to pan for
gold from the experts and each child takes home a speck of gold.

Gold panning takes place outside under shade canopies on the grass of the historic Women’s
Ward Courtyard at the Old Pen. You can also take a 40-minute easy guided geology hike on the
nearby Table Rock hillside at 1pm and again at 2pm. You'll want to enjoy our amazing Museum
and see the blacklight display, mining camp, Idaho dinosaur, rocks and minerals and much
more. Children get a free polished mineral!
