Mothering Matters - Postpartum Outpatient Program
Mothering Matters - Postpartum Outpatient Program
While welcoming a new baby is exciting, nearly 1 in 5 new mothers will experience symptoms of postpartum depression or anxiety after birth. Staying connected with your own emotional and physical well-being while taking care of your growing family is a challenge that no mother should face alone. Join our professionally led group for moms to share experiences, challenges, and doubts while learning personalized strategies to cope with and process the emotional impacts of early motherhood.
Making the decision to seek support takes a lot of courage. Here's what to expect from our postpartum intensive outpatient program:
Group sessions twice a week for 8 weeks from 9:30am-12pm
Each session begins with a simple guided yoga flow, breathing, and relaxation and ends with a group lunch
- Evidenced based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
- Guided conversation to discuss the complexities of motherhood and strategies for adjustment
- Companionship, growth, acceptance, education and connection with other moms
- Children under the age of 5 are welcome - care will be provided
- Coordination of individual counseling if desired
Who qualifies for this program:
Women in the first year postpartum who are experiencing depressive or anxious thoughts, loss of interest in things or people, excessive worry or intrusive thoughts or who are experiencing disruptions in life routines
Everyone deserves care. Call for an intake assessment to determine the best treatment plan possible. Other services may include individual psychotherapy, parenting support groups and community referrals.
