State Controller Donna Jones is getting better. That’s the word from her staff and Idaho Governor Butch Otter.
Jones, who's 73 - years - old was injured in a one-car rollover May 25th. She broke her neck and was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in critical condition for surgery. Now Jones has been moved to a rehab facility and is receiving daily therapy.
Brandon Woolf is the Chief of Staff for the State Controller's Office. "Donna's a super strong person and as we've shared before, having and wearing her seatbelt truely did save her life," he says, "and if there's anyone that's strong and has that strong will, it's Donna, and she does and we're pleased with her and the recovery she's made and know that she'll make a strong recovery."
Jones was driving alone on I-84 east of Rupert when she over corrected, rolling her Cadillac Escalade off the highway.
Jones was elected to the office of state controller in 2006. That’s the Department that pays the state’s bills. Before that, Jones served 12 years as a Representative in the Idaho Legislature.
