Idaho’s unemployment rate continues to tick down, as businesses continue their hiring spree.
2.8% - that’s where the state’s jobless rate sits after Idaho shed another tenth of a percent in April. That puts it among the most robust job markets of any state.
It’s the 17th consecutive month that rate has been at or below 3% in Idaho, according to the state labor department.
Early figures from the state show that number to be even lower in the Boise metropolitan area.
Since this time last year, the state has added nearly 17,000 jobs. Much of those gains came from the construction sector, as well as professional and financial services.
People are finding more work nationwide, too. Last month, the U.S. jobless rate dropped to 3.6%.
