Boise State graduates its class of 2017 on Saturday, May 6, marking the university’s 100th commencement. And for the first time, the ceremony will take place on the famous blue turf of Albertson’s Stadium.
Making the event that much more special is the student speaker, Oceane Pelloille. She came to Boise State from her hometown of Caen, France, just southwest of Paris, on a golf scholarship. Four years later, she’s an All-American champion golfer, the founder of Boise State’s first Make-a-Wish foundation and a Big Sister through the Big Brother/Big Sister program. She also traveled to Jamaica to improve that country’s infrastructure, and she’s a talented singer/songwriter.
Pelloille sat down with Weekend Edition host George Prentice to talk about her time in Boise and her big dreams for the future.
