The trailhead for Polecat Gulch Reserve in Boise's foothills will get a new trailhead. And the city wants your thoughts on how that trailhead should look.
Kelly Burrows is a park development coordinator. He's designed three different ideas for the trailhead. Burrows says he likes the idea that builds the trailhead right off the cul de sac on Boise's North Collister Drive.
"Then, you don't have to have development go so far into the site so you don't disturb the national vegetation as much," says Burrows. "There are definitely pros and cons to each."
Burrows says Boise will need to weigh the needs of the public with the needs of the people who live in the area.
"You know, we're always trying our best to be the best neighbors possible while at the same time still providing recreational opportunities," Burrows says.
He estimates trailhead construction won’t begin until late 2013.
The city's parks and recreation department will host a public meeting to review the ideas this Wednesday at the Collister Library.
