A 'Paul Winter Solstice' Celebration

Award-winning saxophonist and composer Paul Winter presents his annual Winter Solstice Concert -- a musical, theatrical and environmental spectacle celebrating the return of the sun after the longest night of the year.

With special guests the Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble and African mbira master Chris Berry, Winter performs new works and old favorites including "Dancing Day," the West African "Minuit" and "Icarus." John Schaefer hosts the special from New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

Produced by Murray Street in association with Living Music and NPR.
