Mountain Stage
Mac McAnally.

Mac McAnally makes his third visit to Mountain Stage, recorded live on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown. If you were making a list of key behind-the-scenes figures in Nashville, the singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist would be near the very top.

McAnally won the Country Music Association's Musician Of The Year honor an unprecedented seven consecutive times, and has written hits for a staggering number of mainstream country acts. He keeps a sense of humor about it, too, telling the audience, "I was in my early 30s when I learned that if I write a song that sounds like a hit, maybe I should give that song to one of my friends who has a personal trainer and a bus." His set includes his first No. 1 song, "Back Where I Come From," which was recorded by Kenny Chesney.
