Bob Otten

Bob Otten is a native Idahoan. He was born in Nampa and raised in the small community of New Plymouth on a dairy farm which had registered Guernsey cows. Bob is a graduate of The College of Idaho with a B. A. in Elementary Education and an M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance. He taught for 44 years at Roosevelt and Sunny Ridge Elementary Schools in Nampa. After retiring from teaching Bob was appointed to the Nampa School Board in 2012 and was elected to a full four year term in 2013. He is currently serving as the chairman of the Nampa Yes Committee, which is the committee charged to win public approval for a supplemental levy in March.

Bob has been Chairman of the Nampa School Board, President of the Nampa Education Association, served for seven years on the Idaho Education Association Board, served on the school board for Zion Lutheran School and served on the Editorial Board for the Idaho Press Newspaper.

Bob’s hobbies include reading mystery novels and historical fiction and traveling. He has been in 45 of the 50 States and has traveled to Europe several times.
