Laurie Ahern

Laurie has been devoted to public radio for over twenty years, serving as Board President of both KUOW/Puget Sound Public Radio and PRX/Public Radio Exchange.  Since working on the staff of the United States Senate after college graduation, Laurie has stayed strongly interested in public policy and she relies heavily on the solid, unbiased reporting by public radio. Laurie is also a strong advocate for local news reporting and programming by public radio stations to supplement national programming provided by NPR.

Her other love is gardening. Currently, a member of three garden clubs and Vice Chair of the Sawtooth Botanical Garden in the Wood River Valley, Laurie’s potting bench is never without a radio, tuned to BSPR. She and her husband, Paul, raised three children in the Seattle area before moving full time to Ketchum several years ago.
