Shelley McEuen

Shelley McEuen Howard teaches English at the College of Southern Idaho where she also serves as Chair of the Social Science and Communication Department. A northern Idaho transplant who graduated from Lewiston High School and University of Idaho, Shelley just completed her doctorate at Idaho State University. The weekly commute from Twin Falls to Pocatello for her coursework cemented her love for KBSU and made those drives far less lonely.

With interests ranging from Star Wars to urban wild spaces, Shelley tunes in to Fresh Air, Idaho Matters, and Weekend Edition regularly. Shelley has come to view public radio as a cornerstone of a functioning democracy and cannot understate its importance. She is excited about the opportunity to serve on the Community Advisory Board. Shelley is married to Kjel with whom she enjoys cycling, skiing, and spending time outdoors, along with their 15-year-old daughter and two dogs. Writing, reading, and gardening are some of Shelley’s additional interests.
