Tom Jans

Tom Jans and his wife, Deborah, both retired and moved to Boise in 2013 to be closer to their two sons, who live in the Intermountain West. A graduate of Northwestern University, Tom received his MSJ from the Medill School of Journalism in 1972. His 40+ year career in marketing and general management covered positions in companies large and small across the U.S. and in Europe. While serving as a senior executive at an international leisure travel company based in Minneapolis, Tom was one of three volunteer founding Directors of Point2Point Communications, an arm of Twin Cities Public Television. P2P was formed to create advanced corporate communication services for large companies in Minnesota, utilizing under-used broadcast equipment and station staff. This creative new source of revenue helped the station prepare for the conversion to digital television at a time when Federal funding for public broadcasting was shrinking.

He and Deborah listen to KBSX often throughout the day as it gives them a great sense of what is going on in Idaho, across the country and around the world.
