Idahoans Rally On Ultrasound Abortion Bill

BOISE, ID –  Yesterday, Virginia joined 7 other states that require women to have an ultrasound before an abortion.  Another 12 states are considering similar bills, including Idaho.  Opponents and a few supporters of the bill rallied at the Idaho Capitol today.

About a hundred people rallied against the ultrasound requirement.   They held signs that read “Ultra Un-Sound!” and “Hands Off Our Uteri!”  Kendra Womack of Boise took part with her 7-month old son.

Kendra Womack:  “I don’t think there’s any role in politics for politicians to be making those decisions for us as women.”

After remarks by the ACLU of Idaho, Planned Parenthood, and members of the community ended, an uninvited speaker took to the Capitol steps.

Arvell Bajema:  “Shame on you. Shame on you folks, all of you.  Shame on you.”

That’s Arvell Bajema.  He shouted for about five minutes, long enough to start bleeding from his mouth and lips.

Arvell Bajema:  .”‘Cause I don’t like to see babies killed.  That’s why I’m here.”

He came with two other counter-protestors who stood across the street with signs that read “Abortion Murders Future Broncos” and “Equal Rights for the PreBorn.”  One was former gubernatorial candidate Pro Life, also known as Marvin Richardson.  A public hearing on the ultrasound abortion bill is set for Wednesday morning.
