Workers Blow Whistle On Idaho Department Of Juvenile Corrections

idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections

Employees at the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections claim state and federal laws are being violated within the agency.  They filed a whistleblower lawsuit in federal court Monday.

Seven workers at the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections say they face ongoing harassment and retaliation for voicing concerns about the agency and its center in Nampa.  They say they’re short-staffed and security is inadequate to protect staff and juveniles.  They also claim some workers commit fraud and waste public resources.

They want the U.S. District Court in Boise to order changes at the center and for state and federal officials to launch an investigation.

A statement from the Department says although “leadership was made aware” of the complaint Monday, they have not been served with it and “cannot address details” of the lawsuit.
