BSU students Amy Andresen, Sadie Kunz, Shona Ramsey and Taylor Weatherby enjoy a moment before going in to the event. They arrived in line at 8:45 a.m.

President Barack Obama made a whirlwind stop in Boise Wednesday, touching down at around 1:20 p.m. MST.  Air Force One then departed the Boise airport three hours later.

In between, the president spoke to thousands people at the Caven-Williams Sports Complex on the Boise State University campus. He also visited Boise State's New Product Development Lab.

The president visited conservative Idaho to promote his State of the Union address proposals. They include making community college free, reducing student loan debt through refinancing, and raising taxes on wealthy Americans to pay for middle-class breaks.

Obama hadn't yet visited Idaho as president. His last stop here was in 2008 during his first presidential campaign.

Many Idahoans who caught a glimpse of the president, his motorcade or Air Force One shared their experience on social media.

We pulled together this roundup of images and tweets.
