We’re only midway through spring, but motorists should plan ahead as they drive across the state this summer. Magic Valley roadways will see lots of construction in the upcoming season.
The terrain of the Magic Valley may change heading through Jerome, Twin Falls and Burley, but a constant companion along the drive this summer will be orange cones.
Southern Idaho will see $36 million worth of construction on roads this summer. The Idaho Transportation Department says there will be paving projects on three sections of I-84 totaling 13 miles and a 14-mile rehab of Route 30 near the Cassia County line.
According to the Times News, one of the myriad roadway projects is kicking off this week. A section of Idaho 46 from the Snake River through a realigned curve in Wendell will be resurfaced.
A spokesman for ITD said the brutal winter pushed back construction season as long as possible.
